Creating a Scripted SUSE Server install
I’m working on trying to create scripted SUSE Enterprise Server install and running into all kinds of issues. First off this will be deployed through the Altiris Deployment Server. Deployment server supports scripted OS installs, however the only document there is relates to creating a scripted Red Hat iinstall w/ Kickstart and SUSE uses AutoYast.
So has anyone done this? Anyone used a scripted SUSE Install w/ Altiris Deployment Server or have I run into the great black hole?
Also in AutoYast I can create the profile, and also the profile validates, however when I go to save I get an error:
Some schema check failed
Please attach your logfile to bug id 211014
Checking XML with RNG validation….
However I can’t sign in to view this bug.
Two things I need some help with:
1. Anyone do any scripted Deployment Server SUSE Linux deployment
2. Any idea on the bug?
Thanks,
Jonathan
MP3 support in Amarok SUSE 10.2 64-bit
Trying to use SLED 10.2 64 bit but unable to get mp3 support to work correctly in amarok. I have mp3 support working in real player but want it to work in amarok. When I go to install libxine1, YAST gives me a dependency conflict in regards to libffmpeg, kaffiene-gstreamer and kaffiene, and amarok-xine are all in conflict due to missing depenencies.
Anyone able to help me out here with troubleshooting this? Can i just remove libffmpeg, kaffiene-gstreamer, kaffiene, and amarok-xine?
Thanks in advance

Installing Bazaar on SUSE Enterprise Linux 10.2?
For work, SUSE Linux is now supported so I’m working on trying to use that in my day to day life. A problem I’ve run into to help w/ my Kubuntu work is getting bzr up and working correctly.
The major problem is python2.4 is the supported version and the current version of python for bazaar is 2.5. I could install a version of bzr that requires python 2.4 but will the branches (kubuntu-docs, ubuntu-docs, leonov) still work correctly? Can I commit eerything correctly back to Launchpad? Does launchpad require a specific version of bzr?
Currently running SLED 10.2 64 bit edition.
Thanks in advance
Problems with Intel Wireless 4965 Card — Update
I wrote earlier that I was having problems with SUSE Enterprise Linux 10.1 and my wireless card working. I thought it worked out of the box w/ Ubuntu but I was looking for a different network card. The Dell D830 that I have and use with Kubuntu is the Intel 3985 and not the 4985. This card works fine.
Now with the newer card and using 8.04 I can’t get the wireless card to work correctly. I’ve googled and googled and can’t find a simple and easy step by step guide to get this card to work.
Any help
Frustrations w/ OpenSuSE and enabling SSH access
Altiris runs the agent and works w/ SuSE so I downloaded OpenSuSE 10.3 and installed SSH. Altiris conects via ssh to install the application in a push install. However you need to have ssh installed and running correctly.
SO I installed ssh, both the client and the server through Yast and figured that was it. I can ssh locally to the box, however from either any of my VMs or my host I cannot ssh to it. I can ping to the box, just can’t ssh to the box. And nothing on #suse or googling can help me out. i have disabled the firewall as well and still can’t access it.
Please help
