I’ve thought long and hard about this and felt that I was letting my love of the University of Michigan drive my thoughts, but after listening to several sports radio shows, and reading on ESPN.com I still feel that the two best teams won’t play in the National Championship game this year.
I know that on any given day one team can loose to the underdog, just look at what happened to USC and UCLA, but still in my mind the best teams faced off against each other and unfortnatly the national championship was decided. When Ohio State defeated U of M, Ohio should have received the national championship. As much as it hurts me to write that, its true.
People say that the confrence Florida won is the toughest confrecence out there, however how many teams in the SEC are in the top 5? The Big Ten has 3 and the SEC only has one. Well Michigan didn’t when the confrence championship and shouldn’t be allowed to participate. Then we need to take away every Norte Dame National Championship and in fact that argument prevents them from ever being invited to play for a national championship. Do we really want to go down that road?
Let’s be honest and say that those that voted against Michigan playing in the national championship didn’t want a rematch first off and second if Michigan won didn’t want a shared national championship.
What would happen if somehow Florida beat Ohio State and Michigan beat up on USC?
